Synthesis Mental Health Parity Planning™
This fast turnaround, consultative engagement will outline the specific state and federal requirements your health plan will need to meet in order to comply with the Mental Health Parity & Addiction Equity Act 2008. Further, it will identify opportunities to save money and achieve greater behavioral and medical health integration while meeting the increased cost and regulatory demands of this new legislation.
Behavioral Health Integration
Synthesis Behavioral Health Integration® is specifically designed to address problems associated with outsourcing behavioral health to Managed Behavioral Health Organizations. We provide a proven path to quickly establish behavioral healthcare as an additional component to your business. We work in partnership with you to help process behavioral health benefits internally by providing the exact services needed including clinical management, protocols, behavioral provider network management and all of the systems support services for managing behavioral claims.
Case Management
Health Integrated provides dedicated coordination for involved cases whether medical, psychological or behavioral. Our Case Managers advocate on behalf of the member to ensure that their treatment is followed and can identify unspecified physical health needs or behavioral health issues. By operating across multiple organizations, plan programs and benefit providers, our Case Managers ensure awareness of the member’s status, authorizations and care plan.
Nurse Advice/Triage Services
Health Integrated’s Nurse Advice/Triage Service is a comprehensive assessment and education program administered by licensed nurses that provides members with accurate health information to support informed healthcare decision-making. The program includes Symptom Assessment, Health Counseling and an Audio Health Library.
Utilization Management
Health Integrated’s Utilization Management team eliminates non-essential treatments and keeps individuals on the path to health by closely monitoring prescribed procedures for medical necessity. Health Integrated can provide services specific to medical health, behavioral health or both. Our expert nurses and clinicians work with care providers and plan managers using detailed patient history information, national medical protocols, proprietary behavioral health and psychotropic criteria. In addition to coordinating approvals for treatment, our team follows up to coordinate continuing or outpatient care after discharge and makes referrals to Case Management where appropriate.
Physician Review Services
Complementing Utilization Management, Health Integrated also offers Physician Review Services. In the instance when a Utilization Management nurse has difficulty reaching a determination of medical or behavioral health necessity, our medical directors are available for additional support including denials and appeals.
