When members have a crisis, our licensed behavioral health clinicians are available to support them with urgent and emergent needs. With 24/7 coverage 365 days a year, we can help avert unnecessary hospitalizations and address the unique safety issues associated with behavioral health.
Crisis line clinicians are highly skilled at efficiently and compassionately assisting individuals in high-stress situations such as suicidal threats, domestic violence and abuse. Our clinicians are registered nurses, licensed behavioral health professionals or doctorate-level psychologists with appropriate training in clinical triage and referral processes. They can quickly provide the level of support required.
When a call comes in, our clinicians quickly and expertly assess a member’s coping skills, supports, emotional and mental state, and whether there is danger to the member or others. They determine the level of risk while gaining the member’s trust and confidence so they can better assist them.
Strong protocols are in place to quickly draw additional clinical experts into a call if needed, so that members get additional skilled help without ever being transferred or placed on hold. Our staff has tools at their fingertips to immediately dispatch emergency medical services to the member’s location anywhere in the country if the situation warrants.
